Men's sneakers: the quick guide

Our men's sneakers are casual shoes first: leather, suede or knit uppers, a cushioned footbed and a rubber sole. They're made for walking around town, travel and weekends rather than running, and most come in our standard men's G width.

Popular picks:

  • Clean, simple sneaker: the Courtlite2 Run.
  • Everyday casual: the Lockford Lace, or the Dexter in beige or brown suede.
  • A bit smarter: the Flexwell Lace, or black sneakers for work.
  • Lightweight comfort: the Solevana Style from our Cloudsteppers range.

White, black or suede?

White leather goes with nearly everything but shows dirt. Black is the easiest for work and hides marks. Suede looks more relaxed and is great with chinos and denim, but needs a protector spray and a brush to keep it looking good.

Can you wear sneakers with a suit?

With a relaxed or casual suit, yes. Keep it to plain leather sneakers in white, black or navy, without big logos or chunky soles. For formal events and interviews, wear a proper dress shoe.

Sizing

Our sneakers run true to size, and G is our standard men's width, which is roomier than many brands. If you're between sizes, go up half. For more casual styles, including the Desert Boot, see our men's casual shoes.

Frequently asked questions

Are Clarks men's sneakers good for walking all day?

For everyday walking, yes. They have cushioned footbeds and rubber soles. They're not designed for running or the gym.

Can I wear sneakers with a suit?

With a relaxed suit, plain leather sneakers in white, black or navy work well. For formal events and interviews, choose a dress shoe instead.

How do I clean suede sneakers?

Let them dry completely, then brush with a suede brush to lift dirt. A suede eraser shifts most marks. Never soak them, and use a protector spray to help keep them clean.
