SHOE CARE GUIDE
At Clarks, we pride ourselves in the quality of care that goes into each and every shoe. In order to maintain the premium materials we make our shoes with, how you look after them is just as important.

LEATHER SHOES
1.) Clean:Â Leather shoes should be cleaned regularly to maintain their look and durability. Brush off any dirt with a soft shoe brush or cloth to prepare them for polishing. Apply an even coating of shoe lotion to condition the leather.
2.) Dry:Â Leave polish to dry naturally with newspaper inside to assist in soaking up moisture. Do not use any artificial heat source to dry the shoe as this may ruin the leather.
3.) Polish and Buff: Now it’s time to bring some shine! Apply an even coating of shoe polish, making sure to match the colour of the shoe. Buff in with a cloth until the coating turns from matt to polished.
4.) Store: Keep it in dark and dry place within the original box. Use a shoe tree to mainain the shape and size.

TRAINERS & SNEAKERS
1.) Clean:Â Dampen a soft brush or cloth with warm water and mild soap. Gently wipe any dirt or grime from the shoe, be sure not to over saturate the shoe. Remove the innersole to air out.
2.) Dry:Â Leave polish to dry naturally with newspaper inside to assist in soaking up moisture. Do not use any artificial heat source to dry the shoe as this may ruin the upper.
3.) Waterproof: After your shoes have dried, protect them from future dirt and water exposure by applying a waterproofing agent. Handy Tip! Check out our selection machine washable children’s trainers.
4.) Store: Keep out of direct sunlight and store them somehere cool and dry.

SUEDE & NUBUCK SHOES
1.) Clean:Â Use a specialised brush to help remove dirt and marks on suede and nubuck uppers. Gently rub the brush over dirt to remove until clean. It's best to do this in straight motions but in different directions, as this will help remove dirt without pushing it deeper into the fibres.
2.) Dry: The moisture from the damp cloth might temporarily darken the colour of the suede, but this should air-dry; while suede shoes aren’t waterproof, a damp cloth shouldn’t be enough to leave any visible marks.
3.) Protect:Â Use a waterproofing spray to provide protection for future wear.
4.) Store: Keep out of direct sunlight to prevent the colour from fading, and store them somewhere cool and dry, as suede can become mouldy in humidity.
